PGA Championship Golf, 1999 Edition, offers an all-encompassing golfing experience with Internet play supported by the Sierra Sports Golf Association on won.net, championship level tournament play, professional television-style commentating, and the world's most advanced Golf Course Architect. Golfers, in the form of 3D polygonal characters, are now comprised of up to 20,000 polygons and exhibit 400 new motion-captured animations. In addition, the TrueSwing mouse-based swing technology, which made a name for Sierra Sports' Golf Pro 98, is further enhanced in PGA Championship Golf, 1999 Edition.

Sierra Sports has rendered seven course environments, including the Sahalee Country Club, to be as beautiful and accurate as possible. Players may also access an endless supply of fantasy courses created using the Course Architect, a 3D accelerated tool that allows users to create and share detailed golf courses with one another.
